Many of the burl items I see in shops and on the Internet have Polyuretane finish. Why do you use this material only for a few of your items? |
We much prefer a wax finish. Polyurethane is a plastic that actually hides many of the natural characteristics. However, if the item is intended for fruit bowls and other uses where food acids can stain the timber, we do use polyurethane. For decorative items, nothing compares with natural oils and waxes to bring up the highlights of grain and texture.

What if there are splits and cracks in the bowl I have purchased? |
Tmber is absolutely natural, meaning the wood is as it grew on the tree, so such "defects" are a natural part of this. Of course, if the item is broken in transit, that is a different matter, please refer to TERMS & CONDITIONS AND CONTACT US to discuss what action can be taken
